Kimes Nursing & Rehab is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care to our residents. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of nursing administration and the ability to manage and supervise nursing staff effectively while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care is delivered consistently.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for residents based on their individual needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines.
- Manage nursing staff schedules, including shift management and staffing levels to meet patient needs.
- Conduct regular documentation reviews and maintain accurate medical records in EMR and EHR systems.
- Provide leadership and support to nursing staff through mentoring and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided to residents.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements as necessary based on data analysis.
- Maintain knowledge of current medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and best practices in nursing management.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with significant experience in nursing administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, home health, hospice care, or acute care environments.
- Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing nursing teams.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and care planning processes.
- Proficient knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and regulations governing healthcare practices.
