Overview:
We are seeking a Water Construction Inspector to oversee and ensure water system construction and improvement projects are completed according to approved plans, specifications, and standards. This role works closely with internal teams, contractors, and local agencies to support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect water system construction and improvement projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and standards
Coordinate with internal departments (Engineering, Operations, Environmental, etc.) throughout project lifecycle
Manage contract inspectors and ensure quality of inspections
Prepare daily inspection reports (including pressure tests, chlorination reports, materials tracking, and contractor activity)
Compile as-built drawings and project close-out packages
Perform field checks on plans to identify conflicts and improve cost efficiency
Interface with city/county agencies to ensure compliance with permits and regulations
Assist with service surveys and other project-related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2 years of construction inspection experience OR 5 years of water system operations experience
DDW Grade II Water Distribution certification preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and water system maps
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
Construction Management or Construction Law coursework
Engineering-related education or experience
