Mechanical EngineerLocation: Fullerton, CAPay: $50–$60 per hour (DOE)Position SummaryA leading global designer and manufacturer of custom-engineered aircraft components and systems, has an exciting opportunity for creative and self-motivated Mechanical Engineers to join a winning team!The Mechanical Engineers will research and develop new products, models, mechanisms and components associated with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. These individuals will be directly involved with testing and qualification of product development. Investigates and resolves technical problems involving product performance. Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of engineering projects. Essential Functions• Designs complex aircraft components and systems to fulfill requirements from the conception through preparation of sales drawings, details, and parts lists, continuing through quality testing and production.• Prepares complete technical proposals, design layout drawings and perform product designs.• Develops and performs design validation and qualification tests per specifications. • Discusses and consults with sales staffs or customers on product requirements and specifications where design or manufacturing problems are involved.• Coordinates the creation, development, design, and improvement of company products in conformance with established programs and objectives.• Provides engineering advice and assistance to other departments as required.• Accomplishes any special projects as assigned.Role QualificationsSkills & Abilities• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or 10 years of relevant engineering experience.• Strong understanding of mechanical components (gears, bearings, actuators, controls, etc.).• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, mechanics, and stress analysis.• Familiarity with military and commercial specifications, standards, and drafting practices.• Proficiency in SolidWorks and project management skills• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams.• High mechanical aptitude and strong analytical and mathematical skills.Education & Experience• Minimum of 2 years of Mechanical or Electro-mechanical engineering experience, specifically in mechanical aircraft components or hardware.
