CNC Machinist / Setup 

The CNC Machinist/Setup Technician is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a fast-paced production environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-precision manufacturing, efficient workflow, and quality output.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes, mills, manual machines, and inspection equipment quickly and accurately to support production schedules.

• Maintain and update setup procedures for all critical machining processes.

• Interpret blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to consistently achieve close tolerances.

• Transfer programs to various CNC machines using computer systems.

• Inspect machined parts for dimensional accuracy and visual quality against specifications.

• Complete all required production documentation, including part measurements and shop floor paperwork.

• Train and mentor junior machinists, particularly in machine setup and best practices.

• Operate multiple machines simultaneously when cycle times allow.

• Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC mill and lathe setup.
• Able to read and interpret Blueprints
• In-depth understanding of machine shop and tool room practices.
• Knowledge of machining properties for various metals.
• Proficiency in CNC equipment setup, operation, and tool adjustments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, math skills, and analytical problem-solving ability.
• Competence with hand measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.

Other Requirements

• Criminal Background Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screen 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Brother, Haas, and Mazak machine controls.

• Familiarity with writing or editing CNC programs.
