The Kimball International Transportation Planner responsible for the plannings sales order from international suppliers to customer delivery sites.
Responsibilities:
- Participates with Freight forwarder, dray carrier, the customer and account manager in developing the transportation plans to meet delivery requirements for all orders/projects.
- Provides ocean, air, and ground freight quotes when requested.
- Track containers from origin to final destination.
- Confirm delivery appointment have been schedule with the customer and the appointment have been updated (date and time) in the Date Change App.
- Follow up with the freight forwarder/dray carrier to ensure containers will arrive at there schedule delivery appointment time. Update Date Change App as containers delivery.
- Handles requests for expedite and exception shipments; offer options and alternatives.
- Create freight GRN's for all international shipments.
- Manage accessorial charges process. Communicates charges to the KH Account Manager via email or Date Change app. Provide spreadsheet with final charges when all containers have delivered.
- Builds and maintains good working relationships with all logistics services providers; including international freight forwarders, warehouse operators and domestic carriers.
- Assists with Logistics performance measures.
- Help with on-time ship, carrier rejects, exceptions, truckload details, etc.
- Receive and maintain OS&D (over, short and damaged) reports from carriers.
- Know and understand International freight terms.
- Complete Customs Compliance audits of import shipments to ensuring accuracy of entry.

Educational:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of international and domestic freight movement
