Role Description:
The eTools CAD & Catalog Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining our 2D/3D CAD, digital material swatches, and catalog enrichment data for use in Kimball International’s electronic specification tools.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the business unit stakeholders; as well as outside development partners to create and enhance eTools model data
- Create/Validate 2D/3D AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools as identified by the business units.
- Create material JPG’s that tile and render accurately when assigned to product layers
- Utilize Catalog Creator software to import SIF, and build/publish eTools catalogs
- Distribute enrichment data to various vendor partners
- Keep symbol downloads page of Kimball International Brand’s websites current
- Participate in requirements gathering, design, development, testing and support of eTools catalog & symbol creation
- Promote strategy to reduce costs through standardization, automation, and shared assets
- Stay current with technology trends, new software and best practices that can increase productivity
- Identify methods to use Information Technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness within eTools development
- Ensure that effective communication is delivered to all required parties regarding project status updates, support issues and customer inquiries
- Build and maintain business relationships to ensure proper alignment to our business strategy
- Develop, execute, and maintain documentation for processes and projects
- Support vision and guiding principles of Kimball International and the goals of the business units.
