As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the Oral Surgeon and providing a positive experience for patients.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Assist the Oral Surgeon during oral surgery and surgical dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
- Maintain appropriate infection control and sterile technique
- Take digital dental radiographs as needed
- Prepare patients for procedures and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit
- Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative instructions
- Monitor patients and communicate concerns to the Oral Surgeon and dental team
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
- Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared and maintained
- Communicate effectively with dental teams at each office location
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient surgical environment
- Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in Iowa required
- Dental assisting experience preferred
- Previous oral surgery or surgical dental experience is a plus
- Willing to train the right Dental Assistant who is interested in oral surgery
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Compassionate and professional chairside manner
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organized and dependable
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable and able to work in different office environments
- Willingness and ability to travel between Kimball & Beecher locations
