Chief Medical Officer

KIMAW MEDICAL CENTER IS SEEKING APPLICANTS TO FILL THE FOLLOWING POSITION:

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER (CMO): Regular, Contractual, Salary: DOE. Responsible for leadership and administration of K’ima:w Medical Center services. Directs and coordinates all activities of the medical functions. Provides clinical consultation and oversight to physicians and mid-level providers. Collaborates with all KMC Departments, the CEO, and the Board of Directors in planning, implementing, and evaluating health programming quality health services to clients.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

·        Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD or DO).

·        Current unrestricted medical license (California preferred).

·        Minimum of five (5) years of direct ambulatory care experience.

·        Minimum of two (2) years in administrative and/or leadership experience.

·        Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams.

·        Strong commitment to community-based healthcare and culturally sensitive service delivery.

·        Maintains integrity and makes choices based on what is best for the organization.

·        The candidate should possess strong human relations skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience working in tribal or rural healthcare settings.

·        Board certification in a primary care specialty.

·        Familiarity with Indian Health Service (IHS) programs and regulations.
