Duties

- Oversee invoice entry, coding, approval workflows, and payment execution using financial software such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions with general ledger entries through detailed account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Implement and maintain accounts payable automation processes to streamline workflows and reduce manual data entry errors.
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and handle inquiries related to payments and invoices.
- Conduct regular audits of accounts payable records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Utilize Excel data analysis skills—including formulas like VLOOKUP—and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing detailed reports on outstanding payables and accruals.
- Ensure adherence to financial compliance standards and internal policies across all accounts payable functions.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and SOX compliance standards in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in Excel—including advanced functions like VLOOKUP formulas—and spreadsheet management for data analysis.
- Knowledge of accounts payable automation tools and processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Expertise in invoice processing, account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Excellent analysis skills for identifying discrepancies and resolving complex vendor or transaction issues swiftly.
- Experience managing teams within a fast-paced finance environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Workday or UltiPro for payroll integration is a plus.
