Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking an AV Collaboration Manager for our IT Department in our Atlanta, Washington DC, Raleigh or Winston-Salem office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. The AV Collaboration Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) systems to ensure seamless communication and collaboration within the firm’s organization. This role is critical in delivering reliable, innovative, and user-friendly AV solutions to support in-person and hybrid work environments. The AV Collaboration Manager will work onsite, collaborating closely with IT, facilities, and leadership teams to enhance productivity through cutting-edge AV technologies, including video conferencing, digital signage, and collaborative platforms.

Essential Job Functions

  • AV System Management: Design, deploy, and maintain AV systems, including video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex), interactive displays, and audio systems to support meetings, presentations, and collaborative workspaces.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the daily operations of AV systems, ensuring optimal performance, timely maintenance, and efficient resolution of issues across the firm’s facilities.
  • Project Leadership: Lead AV projects from planning to execution, including needs assessments, vendor coordination, budgeting, and timeline management for onsite installations and upgrades.
  • Technical Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for AV-related issues, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and ensure minimal downtime for critical onsite systems.
  • User Training: Develop and deliver onsite training programs for employees on AV tools and best practices to maximize adoption and efficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure AV equipment, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely maintenance or upgrades for the firm’s facilities in Atlanta.
  • System Integration: Work with IT teams to integrate AV solutions with existing network infrastructure, ensuring compatibility, security, and scalability for onsite operations.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Stay updated on emerging AV technologies and recommend solutions to enhance collaboration, such as AI-driven meeting tools or advanced room scheduling systems, tailored to the firm’s onsite needs.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure AV systems comply with the firm’s policies, accessibility standards, and data security regulations. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and inventories for all onsite AV assets.
  • Team Management: Assist in leading and mentoring a team of AV technicians and specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in AV system management, video conferencing, or IT support, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or project management role.
    • Background in managing AV systems for large-scale events or multi-site organizations, particularly in a law firm setting, is preferred.
    • Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms and hybrid meeting environments, with a focus on onsite implementation is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with AV hardware (e.g., Crestron, Cisco (required), or Extron systems) and software (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Webex).
    • Knowledge of network protocols, IP-based AV systems, and IT infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with AV control systems, DSP programming, and room automation.
    • Knowledge of AV-over-IP solutions and emerging trends like 4K video or immersive audio.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train users and collaborate with onsite teams.
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Certifications (preferred):
    • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), Crestron Certified Programmer, or similar AV/IT certifications.
This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000.
