Sanitation Technician
Middle/Swing Shift 10AM-10PM Availability.
Starting at 18$ per hour.
Summary
The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and food quality standards of our manufacturing facility. Working under the guidance of the Sanitation Supervisor, this position ensures that all sanitation tasks are completed efficiently and documented accurately to support SQF and GMP compliance. The technician will be responsible for cleaning equipment, maintaining facility hygiene, and supporting food safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble baking, packaging, and sanitation equipment following SSOPs
Maintain plant cleanliness across production areas, offices, restrooms, breakroom, and building grounds.
Adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and document sanitation activities for food safety and quality assurance.
Conduct daily self-inspections and pre-operational hygiene checks to ensure sanitation standards are met.
Safely collect and dispose of waste materials, including hazardous waste, in compliance with safety protocols.
Use appropriate cleaners and sanitizers for all food processing equipment and facility surfaces.
Report equipment issues and sanitation concerns to the Sanitation Supervisor immediately.
Assist in training new or transitioning team members on sanitation procedures and safety practices.
Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures and all general and job-specific safety guidelines.
Promote a safety-first culture by identifying and proposing methods to eliminate hazards.
Adjust work schedule as needed to meet departmental goals and support critical sanitation tasks.
Complete all required sanitation records and reports accurately and on time.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Preferred:
Minimum 1 year of experience in food/beverage manufacturing (FDA or USDA); baking experience highly preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Developing critical thinking and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, taste, or smell.
Must be able to lift 10–25 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally with assistance.
Work Environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and hot surfaces.
Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends.
Substance-free workplace; must report to work physically and mentally ready.
