Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and strategy.
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, and discovery requests with precision and clarity.
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witness schedules.
- Participate in court depositions, hearings, and negotiations to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Manage legal case files efficiently using case management software, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide legal counsel to clients across various practice areas such as estate planning, employment law, family law, personal injury law, securities law, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, patent law, workers' compensation law, and general & commercial litigation.
- Support attorneys in statutory legal research and procedural law applications to ensure compliance with court rules and regulations.
- Engage in client communication by explaining legal options clearly and professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepare legal motions and assist with trial logistics to ensure smooth courtroom proceedings.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, employment law, and general litigation.
- Excellent research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for statutory and case law analysis.
- Proven ability to draft high-quality legal documents with attention to detail and clarity.
- Effective negotiation skills demonstrated through client advocacy or settlement discussions.
- Familiarity with court procedures including depositions, motions practice, trial preparation, and procedural rules.
- Exceptional writing skills for legal research memos, briefs, pleadings and correspondence.
- Experience managing multiple cases efficiently within a fast-paced environment using legal case management systems.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues critically while providing strategic advice aligned with client goals.
