Role Description
The Estimator / Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Wichita, KS, responsible for managing electrical projects from initial bid through completion. Daily tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals, and developing project budgets and schedules. The role coordinates with clients, vendors, and field teams to clarify scope, secure pricing, and ensure materials and labor are planned effectively. The Estimator / Project Manager tracks project costs, monitors progress, and implements adjustments to keep work on schedule and within budget. This position also contributes to risk assessment, change order preparation, and project closeout documentation while maintaining clear, professional communication with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong project estimation abilities, including Construction Estimating and Project Estimation skills.
- Demonstrated cost control capabilities, including Cost Management and Budgeting skills.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Experience in electrical contracting or construction project management is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with estimating software (McCormick), spreadsheets, and project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
