Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and oversee the collection, validation, and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely submission in accordance with state and federal requirements. Manage the district’s student transfer process and monitor compliance with attendance procedures outlined in the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH). Provide guidance and support to campus attendance clerks to ensure consistent implementation of attendance accounting practices. Serve as the district liaison for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education and Foster Care programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and student support requirements.
Qualifications:
Education High School diploma or GED

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
Ability to meet established deadlines
Possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
Four years school district administrative support, requiring collecting and entering data Experience using coding systems preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records and Reports
• Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submissions according to Texas Education Agency (TEA) PEIMS Data Standards.
• Work cooperatively with campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state deadlines.
• Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.
• Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
• Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in TEA-prescribed format to the education service center for processing.
• Monitor compliance with TREX student records processing.
• Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
• Secure and maintain attendance accounting records according to the district’s records retention schedule.
• Process and monitor student transfer applications in accordance with district guidelines and applicable state requirements.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with attendance accounting procedures outlined in the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH)
Training and Technical Support
• Provide training and support to campuses and to business and personnel office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
• Provide guidance and support to campus attendance clerks regarding attendance accounting procedures and PEIMS reporting requirements.
• Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
• Assist campus principals, assistant principals, counselors, and attendance clerks with Skyward Student software issues
Program Coordination
• Serve as the district McKinney-Vento Liaison to ensure compliance with federal requirements related to the identification, enrollment, attendance, and support of students experiencing homelessness.
• Serve as the district Foster Care Liaison to coordinate services and support for students in foster care and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Other
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job related skills.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
