What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aide, Registered Behavior Technician position at Kilgore Independent School District?
Primary Purpose:
Provide direct support to teachers and students to improve student behavior and create a positive school climate. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or qualified behavior specialist, implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Improve social, behavioral, and adaptive functioning through evidence-based practices rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma / GED required
Texas Educational Aide certificate or willingness to obtain
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate or willingness to obtain certification
Associate's degree or two years of study at an institution of higher learning preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow structured protocols
Ability to remain patient, calm, and consistent in challenging situations
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work in classroom and/or other settings as assigned.
Experience:
Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities
Experience in ABA or implementing behavior interventions
