What are the responsibilities and job description for the MECHANIC - 3rd Shift position at KIKKOMAN FOODS INC?
Summary:
Evaluating, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC systems in the building. Receiving and responding to reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on their premises through maintenance process flow. Maintain all equipment at the site, production, utility, and building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair, adjust or calibrate any kind of equipment, building as requested by Maintenance supervision
- Preventive maintenance (PM) work on any kind of equipment on our premises as requested by Maintenance supervision
- Implementation or assistant work on any kind of projects(s) under Maintenance supervision
- Coordinate outsourced contractor’s activities on our premises as requested by Maintenance supervision
- Preparation of necessary parts, tools, material for repair, PM, projects and contractor support. Preparation means requisitioning parts, fabrication, or modification
- Consultation and adjustment with department involved when required, for repair, PM, projects and contractor support
- Responsible for all the paperwork required for requisitioning, work order detail updates, and labor entry to work orders
- Conduct periodic checks on work as requested by Maintenance supervision as well as related paperwork
- Proper operation of utility equipment as well as necessary checking work, filling up necessary chemicals, related paperwork, and etc.
- Proper operation of detection/alarm devices/systems as well as necessary checking work and paper work including proper communication with related authorities.
- Conduct all variations of work following requirements from HACCP/GMP /SQF, Safety or ISO standards including all necessary paperwork as requested by Maintenance supervision.
- Cleaning and maintaining neat and tidy where maintenance department is in charge in our premises
- “Call in” duties as requested by Maintenance supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Training:
- Some technical college preferred or 3 years of experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Highly detail oriented
- Understanding and knowledge of mechanics or electrical
Physical & Behavioral:
- Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
- Frequently required to reach above shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop or kneel
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds usually from floor to waist level, and able to lift 25 pounds repetitively at or above shoulder height
- Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time
