What are the responsibilities and job description for the RELIEF Veterinary Assistant / Technician position at Kihei Veterinary Clinic?

An experienced, hard-working, and reliable employee for relief (contract) veterinary technician / assistant work. Experience is required however licensing/credentials are not. Any licensed or credentialed professionals will have priority for hiring. Pay within the advertised range depends on candidate's experience and skillset. Position: Contract (Part-time) 10-20hrs, 1-2 x 10hr shifts, Thursdays 8AM-6PM and Saturdays between 8:30AM-5PM.
As a relief nurse, you’ll support our medical team during busy periods and/or staff absences.

What You'll Do:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and other medical procedures.
- Restrain animals safely and humanely
- Record patient histories and collect vitals
- Client Education
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments
- Perform laboratory tests and assisting with diagnostics
- Venipuncture, IV Catheter Placement, Intubation
- Perform and run anesthesia under veterinarian supervision
- Client Education
- Use a user friendly practice management software (Covetrus Pulse)
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
Salary : $20 - $25
