Herdsperson Job Overview
The Herdsperson role is a full-time, on-site position based in Utica, MN. The Herdsperson will be responsible for the daily care of cattle, including fetching cows, monitoring animal health, and giving vaccines. Additional tasks involve daily maintenance of automatic milking machines, manure scraping, and other miscellaneous tasks. The role requires hands-on work, observation of animal behavior, and collaboration with team members to maintain efficient farm operations.
Qualifications
- Skills in cow handling and hands-on experience working with livestock
- Understanding of cattle behavior
- Strong work ethic with a team-oriented mindset
- Basic knowledge of farm equipment and safety protocols
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Prior experience in animal husbandry or farm work is advantageous
- Must be able to communicate in English
Work Schedule
4:30am - 1:30 pm M-F, with every other weekend off
Flexible with days off
Competitive salary based on experience and skill level
Pay: $21.37 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
