About the Role
KidZone Museum is seeking a seasoned Operations Supervisor who is a hands‑on leader ensuring smooth daily operations at the children’s museum. This role works directly at the front desk, supervises frontline staff, oversees admissions and retail sales, manages group reservations, and supports programs and events. The supervisor enforces safety protocols, documents incidents, and responds to staffing issues including occasional off hours calls or texts to reschedule staff and keep the museum running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and coach frontline staff
- Work at the front desk: admissions, memberships, customer service, cash/POS transactions
- Oversee retail operations, inventory, and daily sales reporting
- Manage reservations and logistics for group visits, parties, and rentals
- Ensure exhibits and facilities are clean, safe, and visitor‑ready
- Support special programs and events with setup, staffing, and guest flow
- Handle scheduling, time cards, attendance, and off‑hours coverage calls
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or museum settings
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- POS/cash handling proficiency and sales reporting ability
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, child‑focused environment
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Degree in a related field preferred
- Spanish language proficiency a plus
