Position Summary
We are currently seeking a professional, dependable, and experienced VPK Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The VPK Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment while leading daily classroom operations and supporting children’s overall growth and development.
Key responsibilities
· Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities, including routines, transitions, and behavior management practices.
· Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment, where every child feels respected, valued, and supported.
· Supervise children and ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times.
· Foster children’s curiosity, creativity, and love of learning through intentional teaching practices and hands-on experiences.
· Monitor and document children’s progress and developmental milestones.
· Promote positive behavior and guide children using respectful and constructive approaches.
· Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
· Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff.
· Complete daily reports and classroom documentation.
· Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and center policies.
· Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
Qualifications
· Florida VPK Instructor Credential (required).
· Completion of emergency literacy courses (required).
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
· Have completed the Department of Children and Families 45 hours training (required).
· First Aid / CPR certification (required).
· Previous experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting required.
· Strong knowledge of early childhood education practices and classroom management.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
· Proficient in using digital tools to document developmental progress and conduct ongoing assessments.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
· Must successfully complete all required background screening and training requirements.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
