About the Role:
Join Kidtastic Consulting Services as a Preschool Special Education Teacher, as dedicated and compassionate Preschool Special Education Teacher serving preschool-aged children with special needs. The teacher will design and implement developmentally appropriate, individualised instruction aligned with each student’s Individualised Education Program (IEP), while creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with IEP goals and state learning standards
- Implement Highscope class curriculum
- Adapt learning materials to students needs
- Attend and participate in CPSE/Parent Training and Parent Conferences
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students
- Manage and supervise classroom staff, including teaching assistants and aides
- Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies
- Monitor, collect, and document student progress and data for IEP reporting
- Collaborate with related service providers (speech and OT)
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
- Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the classroom and school community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- NYS Certification in Special Education (Birth–Grade 2 or Students with Disabilities) required
- Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs.
- Effective behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Experience creating, implementing and evaluating FBA/BIP’s
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Knowledge of current best practices in special education.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
