Soccer Coach
At KIDSUNITED we are more than a soccer club – we’re a place where kids build confidence, learn life skills and develop through the game of soccer. We help kids ages 1.5 – 9 years old grow in Life, Body and Soccer Skills – all in a high energy, supportive and fun environment.
We are looking for coaches who love working with young kids, thrive in active environments and want to be part of a mission-driven team that makes a real impact in the lives of these children and the Ann Arbor community. Ideal candidates will be responsible for leading classes and ensuring that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities while also being able to communicate with parents on the weekly progress of their child and ensuring their happiness with the KIDSUNITED program.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead fun and engaging 45-minute classes for up to 12 children in age-appropriate groups.
- Classes include both independent age-level programs for children 3.5 years old as well as parent child classes for children under 3.5 years of age.
- Understand and follow the KIDSUNITED structure and curriculum for each age group while bringing your own personality and energy to each class
- Support children’s growth by developing their body mastery, soccer coordination and life skills through our curriculum
- Build positive relationships with both parents and children, creating a welcoming and encouraging environment
- Communicate with parents about class goals and their child's progress through constructive and encouraging parent feedback following each class
- Keep accurate records of progress reviews
- Ensure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities
- Attend ongoing trainings and team meetings to continue professional development and uphold program standards
- Clearly communicate membership options and help drive sign-ups
- Maintain facility equipment and cleanliness
- Represent KIDSUNITED at occasional community events and outreach opportunities
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- At least 6 months of coaching youth soccer OR 1 year of experience working with children, combined with a background in playing soccer
- A fun, outgoing personality and love of working with kids of all ages!
- Ability to be a team player, collaborating with other coaches to ensure consistency and quality
- Solid verbal and written communication skills required
- Flexible to work day, evening, and weekend hours as needed
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- You’re a pro – punctual, prepared and positive every shift - with a commitment to your weekly class schedule as these kids and parents will be forming a bond with you, their coach.
Class Schedule:
Weekdays: 4:00 PM-8:00 PM
Weekends: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18-22 per hour
Weekly Hours: It is preferred that you are able to work a minimum of 9 hours per week (2 full
days)
Important Requirement – Mandatory Training
Please note: Passing the interview and being selected as a candidate does not guarantee an
immediate job offer.
All candidates must successfully complete a 3-day mandatory training program conducted
by KIDSUNITED Franchise Management May 5-7th and be able to start working the weekend of May 8th.
- Only candidates who successfully complete and pass this training will receive an official offer letter and begin paid employment.
Background checks will be completed on every applicant prior to training.
