What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN- Nights position at KidsPeace?
An LPN Staff Nurse will, under the supervision of an RN, providing nursing care to clients as outlined in section 2 of the "Practical Nurse law".
Nights 12-hour shifts. EO weekend.
Must attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing and current North Carolina PN License required.
One year nursing experience preferred.

The candidate must pass the criminal record history clearance and a child abuse clearance as well as possess a valid driver's license.
SCM certification, observer status required. SCM Level 1 or 2, strongly preferred. CPR/First Aid certification required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Provide nursing care based on client needs.
Assist with the development of plan of care.
Observe client behavior and physical status and notify RN and/or Physician of changes in condition.
Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client's rights.
Assist clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate.
May supervise Mental Health Technicians during shift.
Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally and/or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
Administer medications as per Physician's orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.
Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Leadership.
