KidsLife Childcare Center is seeking an Assistant Director who's love for children flows from out of their love and passion to serve Jesus.

KidsLife Child Care Center is a Christian child care organization located at the Peerless Center in Johnson City. We believe that KidsLife has the calling and responsibility to positively impact children and families in our community with exceptional care and a sincere expression of love everyday! We're not merely a company, we are a ministry called to be a blessing in our city by positively impacting one child at a time. KidsLife is a ministry of the church Life Assembly Johnson City. We offer care for children ages: 6 weeks-5 years. Our operating hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 6pm and we're closed on weekends!

GENERAL INFORMATION

The assistant director will assist and support the director with the overall day-to-day management of KidsLife Childcare Center. The assistant director will substitute for the director in the event of illness or vacation. The assistant director will assist the director in the monitoring, evaluating, supporting, coaching, and discipline of the staff. The assistant director is responsible for family engagement and will assist the director in communication with families and programs. Tasks and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Be a team player who establishes positive, respectful, and professional relationships with children, families, KidsLife staff, Life Assembly staff, and the child care community.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Have at least a high school diploma and 2 years of experience working with children.
• Assist the director in planning staffing schedules
• Ensure all staff are following KidsLife policies and performing all duties and responsibilities established in the handbook.
• Assist the director in ensuring all staff and facilities are in compliance with State regulatory agency rules.
• Demonstrate flexibility with the work schedules and assignments as needed to meet the needs of KidsLife. The assistant director must be able to open or close the center on a daily basis.
• Once a week, the assistant director will organize all supplies as needed and handle distribution to classrooms at appropriate times.
• The assistant director shall assist the director with snack and meal preparation and distribution each day.
• Help with employee breaks throughout the day including lunch and restroom breaks.
• Keep outdoor and classroom toys, books, and equipment up to assessment standards.
• The assistant director supports classroom teachers with decor, projects, laminating, etc. Projects should be completed within one week of the initial date of the request.
• The assistant director maintains monthly attendance documentation for children in KidsLife and files them appropriately via the Licensing Portal and/or ProCare.
• The assistant director is responsible for monitoring and maintaining KidsLife's participation in the Tennessee Certificate Program
• The assistant director shall organize supplies that need to be purchased for the week, and store them neatly and safely.
• The assistant director shall be responsible for organizing weekly snack menus and purchasing of snacks.
• The assistant director oversees the direction and running of the center when the director is absent.
• The assistant director plays an integral role in helping in program planning, organization, and execution of special events at the center, such as but not limited to: Thanksgiving Lunch, Graduation programs, Fall Pumpkin Patch, etc.

Pay: $31,250.00 per year
