What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant position at KidsChoice Therapy and Play Center?
The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements OT treatment plans as directed by the supervising OT, collects session data, and supports functional skill development for assigned clients. The OTA practices exclusively within the OTA scope of practice as defined by Oklahoma law and AOTA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement OT treatment activities as directed and delegated by the supervising OT — no independent evaluation or treatment planning
- Collect session performance data on all targeted occupational goals and record in the Rethink EMR per supervising OT instructions
- Actively participate in all scheduled OT supervision contacts and implement feedback
- Communicate any client changes, family concerns, or safety issues to the supervising OT immediately
- Complete documentation in the Rethink EMR on the date of service; notes are reviewed by the supervising OT
- Maintain current Oklahoma OTA licensure through required renewal
- Associate's degree in occupational therapy assisting from an ACOTE-accredited program
- Current, active Oklahoma OTA license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
- Experience with pediatric populations preferred
- No active disciplinary sanctions on Oklahoma license
- Clearance of all required background checks and OIG/SAM.gov exclusion screens
Oklahoma Credential Requirement
Must hold a current, active OTA license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. License status is verified at hire and monthly thereafter.
