What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Age Coordinator-Director (Before & After School Childcare) position at Kids Way Child Care & Early Learning Center?
Kids Way is recruiting an On-Site Coordinator/Director for our DCYF-licensed Before and After School Program located at a Lake Stevens School District Elementary School. This program is licensed for 30 children and employs an On-Site Coordinator/Director and an Assistant/Lead Teacher.
MUST meet all DCYF qualifications and MUST have 2 years of experience.
Our program enrolls children Kindergarten through the 5th grade. The average hours are 32 hours a week. It is a split shift, before and after school on school days, and full days when open on non-school days.
Typical school day hours: 5:45 am until 9:45 am (before school) and then 2:45 pm until 4:45-5:00 pm (after school). On school breaks, we are open from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm. The director works 8 hours on non-school days. This is a year round program.
Responsibilities would include:
- Overseeing the program to ensure it follows all Kids Way Policies, and DCYF, Health, and Fire Codes.
- Communicating needs to Kids Way Director, including needed activity materials and food for snacks.
- Create and implement a positive and engaging environment for the children.
- Provide direct and active supervision of children and staff.
- Communicating, scheduling, and creating a positive environment for an Assistant Teacher, including ongoing training as needed.
- Open and positive communication with families and staff.
- Maintain material, equipment, and overall cleanliness of licensed area.
- Maintain a positive relationship with the Lake Stevens School District.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years working with School Age children in a group setting.
- Must have strong attendance, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to create a positive environment for the children and staff
- Available for quarterly staff meetings after operating hours
Meet the requirements of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF)
o High School Diploma
o Minimum of 12 College Credits of 100 level or above, with a continued education schedule until 30 College Credits of 100 level or above are completed.
o Cleared Background check, including fingerprints
o TB Test
o Certified in CPR/1st Aid
o MMR
o DCYF training: Families Experiencing Homelessness, Disaster Preparedness, End Harm Mandated Reporting, Licensing Orientation for School Age Providers
o Food Handler Card
o Medication Management
o BBP/HIV Certificate
o Annually 10 hours of continued education via DCYF STARS Training or other qualified training or coursework

Pay starts at $30 per hour and is re-evaluated after 90 days of continuous employment
Pay: $53,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
