Toddler Teacher’s Assistant (18–24 Months)
Kids R Us Learning Center – Odessa, TX
Kids R Us Learning Center is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Toddler Teacher’s Assistant to join our team. We are seeking someone who enjoys working with young children and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. This position involves supporting children’s daily routines, encouraging early learning, and building positive relationships with both children and families.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive childcare services for toddlers
- Maintain an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child and family
- Promote feelings of security, trust, and comfort in toddlers
- Greet parents warmly and professionally
- Ensure each child is welcomed warmly upon arrival
- Assist with circle time, toddler activities, and daily classroom routines
- Change diapers promptly and in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards and center procedures
- Follow the daily lesson plan and assist with age-appropriate learning activities
- Help maintain a positive, safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Support children during transitions, meals, rest time, and other daily routines
- Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and administration
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times
Qualifications
- Must be caring, patient, dependable, and team-oriented
- Must work well with young children, families, and team members
- Childcare experience preferred, especially with toddlers
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to follow classroom schedules and lesson plans
- Must meet all required childcare licensing and background check requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
- Must have reliable attendance, be punctual, and maintain a professional attitude
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children throughout the day
- Must be able to supervise children in a fast-paced classroom environment, both indoors and outdoors
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Regular shift: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Rotating closing shift until 6:00 PM every 3 weeks

Additional Information
- All new hires are subject to a 90-day introductory period, during which attendance, performance, and overall job suitability will be evaluated.
- This position is for a toddler classroom serving children ages 18–24 months and requires diaper changing, active supervision, and participation in daily routines and classroom activities.
Pay
- Starting at $13.00 per hour, depending on experience
