Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our learning academies. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Handle chemical agents safely following safety protocols and handling safety procedures
- Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain floors in pristine condition
- Conduct sanitation tasks including trash removal, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed
- Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting and manual handling activities to prevent injuries
- Maintain cleanliness logs and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
Requirements
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred; familiarity with commercial cleaning is a plus
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums effectively
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in a safe manner
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Good communication skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment at all times
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
