Kids R First Kansas is seeking an FFCS- Family Foster Care Specialist to support and strengthen family-based foster care through compassionate, coordinated care in a hybrid setting.
Position SummaryThe FFCS- Family Foster Care Specialist provides day-to-day support and ongoing resources to foster families, helping ensure children and families receive consistent guidance, services, and communication. This role plays a key part in building positive outcomes by coordinating care, maintaining accurate case documentation, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is full-time and based in Wichita, KS, with a hybrid work schedule. The specialist will work both independently and collaboratively to support foster families while adhering to program standards and applicable safety, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport foster families through regular check-ins, coaching, and problem-solving to promote stability and child well-being.
Coordinate and track service plans by working with relevant partners to ensure timely resources and follow-through.
Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation and ensure records are completed in accordance with program expectations.
Assess needs and barriers for children and foster families, escalating concerns when additional support is required.
Participate in case meetings, training, and other team activities to support continuous improvement in family foster care services.
Experience working with children, youth, and/or families in a supportive or casework capacity.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and care.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
Clear communication skills, including the ability to build trust with foster families and collaborate with stakeholders.
Willingness to work in a hybrid environment and participate in in-person activities as required.
Bilingual- English and Spanish
Familiarity with foster care, family services, or related social service programs and processes.
Experience with care coordination, case management, or facilitating supportive plans for families.
Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed approaches and strategies for supporting resilience.
Experience documenting case notes and maintaining records in a timely, accurate manner.
Annual salary: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00
