TK Group Leader (Part-Time) 11:30-3:15, M-F @ Carrillo Elementary

Job Title: Group Leader

Position Goal:

The goal of this position is to provide quality child care for elementary school children.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Prepares Center activities for the purpose of providing quality child care.

2. Coordinates activities with other center staff for the purpose of ensuring quality program offerings for children.

3. Maintains center, center equipment and supplies, and documentation for the purpose of ensuring a safe and orderly environment.

4. Choose, prepare, and implement activities for the purpose of providing a developmentally appropriate environment.

5. Monitors student activities for the purpose of providing a safe and positive environment.

6. Communicates with parents, school staff, and others for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information.

7. Administers first aid and medication for the purpose of providing appropriate care.

8. Participates in various activities (e.g. meetings, training, ect.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information.

Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of:

1. Child development principles

2. Age appropriate activities

3. Routine recordkeeping

4. Techniques of positive communication

Ability to:

1. Read/interpret/apply rules, regulations, and policies.

2. Learn methods and materials used in a variety of of situations.

3. Work with children and adults in a manner which demonstrates adaptability, flexibility, and creativity and imagination.

4. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations and other sounds, and near/far visual activity.

5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, parents, school administrators and community

6. Perform basic clerical functions

7. Perform basic arithmetic calculations

8. Operate standard office equipment

9. Use English in the verbal and written form, use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling

10. Make common sense decisions

11. Administer first aid

Pay: $ $21.06 per hour
