Early Childhood Teacher

Position Overview

The Early Learning Center Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom, and supporting the social, emotional, and developmental growth of children. Teachers work closely with other staff and families to create a welcoming, high-quality program.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, supervision, and a nurturing environment for children.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Louisiana Early Learning Guidelines.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Observe and document child development and progress.
• Communicate effectively with families about daily activities and child milestones.
• Ensure compliance with Louisiana Bulletin 137 licensing standards.
• Participate in required professional development and Louisiana Pathways training.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Applicants must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent credential (GED).
• Must pass the Louisiana Child Care Criminal Background Check.
• Enrollment in the Louisiana Pathways Career Development System (required).
• CDA, Early Childhood diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (preferred, not required for entry-level).
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children.
• Passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.

• Creativity and energy in lesson planning and play.
• Positive attitude and patience.
• Previous childcare or teaching experience is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
