Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans focused on toddler care, literacy education, and early intervention strategies.
- Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration, social interaction, and physical activity through teaching physical education and play-based learning.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including meal times, naps, diapering, and transitions, ensuring a safe and nurturing space for all children.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and support children’s emotional development.
- Assess each child's developmental progress regularly through observations and standardized testing where applicable; tailor lesson plans to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and support ongoing child welfare initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and lesson plans in compliance with licensing standards.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; experience specifically with toddlers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, including Montessori methods or other early childhood education frameworks such as preschool experience or private school experience.
- Familiarity with curriculum development that incorporates literacy education, math concepts, and classroom management techniques tailored for young children.
- Experience working with children who require special education or early intervention services is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
