Kids in the Game is expanding to Jersey City and seeking a dynamic Camp Director to lead a high-energy, community-centered day camp serving 30–50 campers and 10–15 staff members. Kids in the Game runs 13 summer day camps across NYC, Westchester & Jersey City. Our camps bring kids together through sports, arts, STEM, creative play, field trips, and weekly themes—creating safe, inclusive spaces where confidence, teamwork, and community thrive. What You’ll Do
Leadership & Culture
- Model KING’s core values: Ambitious, Positive, Committed, Inclusive, Empathetic.
- Lead rallies, spirit days, and traditions that bring camp culture to life.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training; supervise and mentor ADs, Specialists, and Counselors.
Operations & Administration
- Manage daily camp logistics including schedules, attendance, arrival/dismissal, supplies, and documentation.
- Partner with the Admin AD to oversee registration, communication, and data accuracy.
- Coordinate pre-summer planning with Operations, Marketing, Finance, and P&C.
Family & Community Engagement
- Serve as a primary point of contact for families—professional, timely, and empathetic.
- Support weekly newsletters, orientations, and open houses; represent KING at community events.
Programming Oversight
- Collaborate with the Programming AD to deliver balanced weekly schedules across sports, arts, STEM, and creative play.
- Ensure programming is developmentally aligned, inclusive, and engaging.
- Support Off-Site AD in field trip and swim logistics.
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold NJ DOH, ACA, and internal KING safety standards.
- Ensure certifications, ratios, incident reporting, and emergency procedures are followed daily.
Schedule & Time Commitment
January–June (Part-Time)
3–15 hours/week depending on month
Includes staff interviews, training, leadership meetings, family outreach, and camp prep.
Evening and weekend training required.
Summer Season
June 22 – August 28, 2026
Full-time, on-site | Mon–Fri | 7:30 AM–5:00 PM two after-care days/week
Includes pre-camp training.
Compensation
Pre-Summer (Jan–June):
Monthly stipends ($150–$600; approx. $1,500–$2,000 total)
Summer (June–Aug):
$1,400 – $1,500 per week, based on experience and enrollment
End-of-Camp Bonus:
$300–$500 performance-based bonus
Qualifications
- 5 years of youth development, camp, or education experience; 2 years in a camp leadership role.
- Experience supervising staff, leading training, and building strong camp culture.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working on-site full-time in summer and part-time Jan–June.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- NJ Camp Director Certification (or willingness to complete required orientation).

Salary : $1,400 - $1,500
