Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Dance Instructor to join our vibrant dance education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching dance to kids K-5 particularly hip hop, and possess the ability to engage students of various ages and skill levels. This role involves learning and/or creating fun energetic choreography, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring students through movement and creativity. Have experience in learning choreography, classroom management, and working with children. The instructor will contribute to our mission of promoting physical activity, artistic expression, and confidence among students through innovative dance instruction.
Responsibilities
- Arrive to the school on time and clock in
- Take attendance and call parents of absent kids
- Teach Hip Hop Choreography to elementary K-6 Kids
- Play fun dance games at the end of class
- Maintain fun and enthusiastic attitude while teaching to engage the kids
- Do head counts to keep track of all the kids
- Report behavior issues when/if they occur
- Manage classroom environments effectively to ensure safety, discipline, and positive behavior.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages self-expression and confidence among students.
- Teach engaging dance classes that incorporate fundamental hip hop techniques, choreography, and improvisation.
- Provide individualized feedback and support to help students improve their technique and performance skills.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation
- Must do a background check
- Must be a US Citizen
- 1 year experience in dance (School, Theater, Cheer, Dance Team, Dance Class, Life)
- Be able to learn and memorize choreography
- Passion and love for working with kids
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate students and maintain a positive environment.
Pay: From $55.00 per hour
