Housekeeping Specialist

POSITION GOAL: This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, security, functionality and aesthetics of the KID campus through the performance of routine, safety, preventative and requested janitorial services. This position is responsible to ensure KID meets or exceeds all applicable standards from any regulating entities that include but are not limited to; the Broward County Health Department Child Net and COA. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

• Education and/or experience:
  
  

High School diploma or equivalent preferred and experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.

Must have the ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.

• Skills/Abilities:
  
  

Must be able to frequently lift and/or carry equipment and items that may weigh up to 50 lbs. and must have the ability to work within a team.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this position. This position requires a moderate amount of sitting, walking and the frequent use of hands and arms. Talking and listening will be a major component. Occasionally, light lifting will be required. The ability to visually focus with the eyes for close range and be able to distinguish colors is required. Additionally, the work environment is a typical climate controlled office environment and the noise is usually moderate, but occasional situations louder noise will be prevalent.
