Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, and behavior management strategies.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social-emotional skills, cognitive development, and motor skills, including Montessori or preschool methodologies.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation.
- Help monitor and document children's progress through observations and assessments to inform ongoing curriculum development.
- Support daily routines such as meal times, nap times, diapering or potty training for toddlers, and transitions between activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and behavior while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles such as childhood development theories and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development including literacy education, math activities, behavior management strategies, and Frog Street Curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
- Ability to implement lesson plans that foster inclusive learning experiences for all children.
- Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for supporting young learners’ growth and development.
