Responsibilities
- Properly clean, sterilize, and assemble dental instruments using established aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Manage inventory levels of sterilized supplies, ensuring all necessary instruments are available for daily procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument usage, and inventory logs for compliance and quality assurance purposes.
- Assist dental staff by preparing sterile instruments and materials needed for various procedures in a timely manner.
- Follow strict protocols related to physiology and anatomy to ensure correct handling of specialized dental tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines related to sterile processing, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support infection control procedures by monitoring sterilization equipment performance and reporting any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in sterile processing or dental assisting is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures and sterilization processes is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of aseptic technique principles essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
- Basic knowledge of human physiology and anatomy as it relates to oral health and dental procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow precise protocols consistently.
