What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant I position at Kids Dental Brands?
*Part time and must be able to work Saturdays*
Essential Functions The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both
interpersonal and technical skills. Although state regulations vary,
responsibilities may include: assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment
procedures, taking and processing dental radiographs, asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood
pressure and pulse, developing infection
control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment, helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental
treatment, providing patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatment procedures, teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain
oral health, taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts,performing office management tasks that often require the use of a
personal computer, communicating with patients and suppliers helping to provide direct patient care
Education: Certification from a dental assisting
school X-ray and CPR certification
Experience: 1-2 years in a pediatric dental or new graduates
Computer Skills: Computer Literate.
Language Ability: Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
Work Environment The work
environment includes work within a dental clinic and remote work in an office
environment. The work environment may vary significantly and may include
loud, fast-paced, and rapidly changing conditions. All employees working
within a dental clinic have potential exposure to blood or air borne pathogens,
as is typical in a healthcare setting. Position may require long periods
of sitting and standing. Manual dexterity will be required for handling small
objects and typing on a computer. Close and distance vision will be
required. Employee may need to
occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
