About Us
Kids Day Out at First Baptist Church Hallsville is a Christ-centered program to teach young children to love God and others and provide a warm and loving environment for the children. We offer arts and crafts, story time, music, games, science, indoor/outdoor play, and community awareness to stimulate our children mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Program Times, Days, and Ages
Classes are 9:00 to 2:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays for children ages 18 months to preK. We follow the Hallsville ISD calendar for holidays and school closures. The first day of school for the 26-27 school year is September 9. There will be staff training and meet the teacher prior to the first day of school as well.
PURPOSE: The KDO employee shall support the church’s KDO ministry:
1. To provide a safe, healthy, and loving environment for children.
2. To meet the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of children.
3. To educate children through the teaching of Bible truths.
4. To reach children and their families for Christ and the church.
5. To involve the church family in laying a Christian foundation for children.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate shall:
1. Be a Christian.
2. Have had experience in working with children.
3. Demonstrate a basic love for children.
4. Be in good health, able to bend, stoop, lift and physically take care of children.
5. Be certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED before the first day of school or within three months of hire date. Opportunity will be provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Help provide and maintain a Christian environment in which the children may grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
2. Become acquainted with each child and aware of his/her needs. This relates to eating, toileting, sleeping, playing, working, health care, safety, etc.
3. Be familiar with and follow the established KDO personnel policies and procedures.
4. Work according to the schedule outlined by the KDO Director.
5. Assist Lead Teacher in implementing developed lesson plans.
6. Maintain a clean and orderly room each day.
7. Inform the Director of needed supplies, repairs, and materials.
8. Document and inform the Director of significant behavior of children for whom you are responsible.
This position starts at $12/hour. It is classified as part-time and does not include vacation, sick leave, or other full-time benefits. The intent of the part-time status is not to exceed 14 hours per week. This position reports to and is supervised by the KDO Director. You will be expected to work 8:30am-3:00pm Mondays and Wednesdays in September-May, and we will follow the Hallsville ISD academic calendar.
