Kids Count Too, Inc. is a statewide nonprofit foster care and adoption agency committed to delivering exceptional services and support to foster youth and foster/adoptive families. We are currently hiring for the position of Licensing Specialist at our Bowling Green location.
Foster Care Licensing Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:
- Work with new foster parents through the licensing process to ensure understanding of fostering expectations.
- Assist foster parents with scheduling required trainings as needed
- Provide support and guidance to foster families and assist them in completing required paperwork as needed
- Ensure foster families comply with Kids Count Too and ODJFS policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Attend agency events as requested by the Administrator.
- Provide regular updates to the Administrator.
- Maintain CEU's required to keep LSW current, if applicable
- Attend specific trainings/workshops as requested by Administrator.
- Conduct foster home investigations, cite rule violations, and implement corrective action plans.
- Perform home studies, reviews, mid-year assessments, amendments, re-certifications, and other related licensing tasks.
- Conduct ODJFS rules; KCT Policy and Procedure training for pre-service and recertificatiosn
- Meet with prospective foster parents and complete orientation meetings under the direction of the Administrative Director
- Provide backup support for caseworkers, including attending court, meetings, and home visits.
- Participate in the rotation of the on call phone
- Network and promote agency functions with other organizations
- Adhere Kids Count Too's protocols for following up with prospective foster families and tracking communication throughout the licensing process
- Attend annual MEPA training update
- Comply with all MEPA requirements set forth by the agency
- Report all MEPA concerns/violations to the Administrative Director or designee immediately
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Administrator
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services-related field.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Team-oriented with a solid understanding of child development, behavior, and discipline.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and laws governing foster care.
- Knowledgeable in MS Office
Preferred but not required:
- LSW (Licensed Social Worker).
- Previous experience in foster care.
- Experience with SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System).
