Overview

Kids Corner Behavior Services Advanced Academy (KCBSAA) is seeking a passionate, flexible, and dedicated Teacher to join our growing team. KCBSAA is a specialized school serving students with diverse learning needs through a collaborative approach that combines high-quality education with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Our teachers have the unique opportunity to work in small classroom settings of approximately 8–10 students, allowing for individualized instruction, meaningful student relationships, and a supportive learning environment. Teachers work closely alongside Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), administrators, and families to help students achieve academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Learning

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with educational standards and student needs.
  • Deliver instruction across academic subjects while promoting communication, independence, and functional life skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles, abilities, and developmental levels.
  • Utilize hands-on learning activities, technology, visual supports, and evidence-based teaching strategies.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with RBTs, BCBAs, therapists, and other educational professionals.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of individualized educational and behavioral strategies.
  • Maintain open communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Classroom Management & Student Support

  • Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental, behavioral, or learning needs.
  • Implement proactive classroom management strategies that encourage positive behavior, engagement, and independence.
  • Foster social-emotional growth, communication skills, peer interactions, and self-confidence.

Assessment & Documentation

  • Monitor student progress through observations, assessments, and data collection.
  • Maintain accurate educational records and progress reports.
  • Use student performance data to guide instruction and support individualized learning goals.

Qualifications: Preferred but NOT REQUIRED Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (
  • Teaching certification or eligibility preferred.
  • Experience working with children in educational, therapeutic, or behavioral settings.
  • Experience supporting students with autism or other special needs is a plus.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate learning technology and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding and participation.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies, creating a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning.
  • Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing methods and provide tailored tutoring or intervention as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism or other special needs.
  • Incorporate physical education activities to promote health, coordination, and teamwork among young learners.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents while ensuring compliance with educational administration policies.
  • Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants by sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and working with children of varying abilities.

Experience

  • Prior classroom experience working with early childhood or elementary students in a private school or similar setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy education, math, and library services.
  • Experience working with children with autism or those requiring early intervention strategies is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff are essential.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools and software used in modern classrooms to enhance teaching effectiveness.
