Position Overview
Kids Academy of Learning & Excellence (KALE), powered by CORE Foundation™, is seeking a passionate and qualified Early Childhood Education Specialist & Learning Experience Leader to join our innovative learning community.
This role serves as the classroom leader responsible for creating engaging, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. The ideal candidate is a confident educator who can independently manage a classroom, implement curriculum, build strong family relationships, and represent the KALE learning experience.
This position aligns with Virginia Lead Teacher requirements and requires a strong commitment to educational excellence, child development, and family engagement.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Leadership & Instruction
- Lead and manage classroom operations independently.
- Support learning environments across infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age programs.
- Implement Brightwheel Experience Curriculum and KALE’s STE(AI)M™ learning model.
- Create engaging lessons incorporating science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, robotics, and creativity.
- Support children’s academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth.
- Complete child observations, assessments, and developmental documentation.
Family Engagement & Enrollment Support
- Build strong relationships with children and families.
- Provide timely parent communication through Brightwheel, including classroom updates and daily experiences.
- Maintain consistent family engagement to support trust, satisfaction, and retention.
- Participate in tours, open houses, and enrollment activities.
- Showcase the KALE classroom experience to prospective families and the community.
Classroom Excellence & Operations
- Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
- Complete daily classroom cleaning and organization responsibilities.
- Prepare learning materials and maintain classroom readiness.
- Follow Virginia Department of Education childcare regulations and KALE policies.
- Support a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment.
Professional Leadership
- Serve as a role model for assistant educators and classroom support staff.
- Collaborate with administration on curriculum, classroom goals, and school initiatives.
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet Virginia Lead Teacher qualification requirements.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with young children in an early learning environment.
- Ability to work with children from infancy through school-age.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDA credential, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management platforms.
- Experience with classroom assessments and family engagement.
