Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curricula tailored to the developmental needs of children, including literacy education, math, physical education, and early childhood education principles.
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that promote active learning and critical thinking.
- Manage classroom environments effectively to ensure safety, discipline, and positive behavior management.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning for all students.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention support.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing and other evaluation tools to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Incorporate Montessori or other specialized educational philosophies where appropriate to enhance learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support each child's welfare and development goals.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom experience, and childcare best practices.
- Support extracurricular activities such as tutoring or physical education classes that contribute to holistic child development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral reports in compliance with school policies.
- Promote child welfare by creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages social-emotional growth and respect for diversity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, private schools, or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices including early intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across multiple subjects including literacy, math, physical education, and special education needs.
- Experience managing classrooms effectively through behavior management techniques and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools for evaluating student achievement.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and students alike.
- Certification or licensing in early childhood education or related fields preferred; Montessori certification is a plus.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
