What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Early Childhood Floater / Assistant Teacher position at Kids Academy Daycare Center?
Kids Academy Early Learning Center is looking for an experienced, dependable Part-Time Floater to join our team!
This position is ideal for someone who has previous experience working in a licensed childcare center and is comfortable jumping into different classrooms wherever support is needed.
Our floater will work with children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old, so you must be comfortable working with infants, toddlers, twos, preschoolers, and Pre-K children.
What You'll Do
- Provide classroom coverage for breaks, absences, and staffing needs
- Work in all age groups throughout the center
- Assist with diaper changes, feeding, toileting, naps, meals, and other daily care routines
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play
- Assist teachers with classroom routines, transitions, and cleanup
- Maintain active supervision and appropriate teacher-to-child ratios
- Follow Kids Academy policies and all DCFS licensing requirements
- Help maintain a safe, clean, positive, and nurturing environment
What We're Looking For
We are especially interested in candidates who have previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
Applicants should be:
- Dependable and punctual
- Flexible and willing to help wherever needed
- Comfortable changing diapers and providing hands-on care
- Comfortable working with all age groups
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Familiar with childcare classroom routines and expectations
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Able to meet DCFS background check and training requirements
Schedule
This is a part-time position, approximately 15–20 hours per week.
Hours may vary based on the needs of the center. Candidates must have flexible daytime availability Monday–Friday and understand that weekly hours and classroom assignments may change.
