Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ABA Waiver Lead Therapist to provide behavioral health services to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. The ideal candidate will lead therapeutic interventions, coordinate assessments, and support patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This role requires strong expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), experience working with children and individuals with disabilities, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans based on behavioral assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Conduct intake evaluations and ongoing patient assessments to determine needs and progress.
- Lead and supervise behavioral therapy sessions utilizing applied behavior analysis techniques tailored to each patient's needs.
- Collect, analyze, and document data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, including patient records, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
- Provide training and supervision to junior staff or therapy assistants as needed.
- Ensure all services adhere to medical terminology standards, legal requirements, and ethical guidelines related to behavioral health.
- Support patients through patient care activities such as patient assessment, intake procedures, and behavioral health interventions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in behavioral therapy, especially with children or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), special education strategies, and behavioral health principles.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred.
- Ability to collect and analyze data accurately for progress tracking and treatment planning.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices, medical terminology, patient records management, and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
- Certification or licensure in behavior analysis or related fields is a plus but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and conduct patient assessments thoroughly.
