Duties

• Design and implement creative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that supports a child's development goals.
• Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, motor, language, and social skills among children.
• Manage classroom behavior by applying effective behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
• Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and practicing first aid and CPR when necessary.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Experience working with children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and external specialists.
• Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies such as preschool teaching approaches.
• Knowledge of childhood welfare standards, daycare regulations, and mandated reporting laws.
• Certification in first aid and CPR; experience teaching physical education or tutoring is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an inclusive environment for all learners.

Requirements

• 19 years and older
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or Higher Education
