What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Center Associate position at Kidron Bethel Village?
Kidron Bethel Village is looking for a part-time Wellness Center Associate to join our team! This position will be regularly scheduled as part-time from June 1 - August 1, working 6:30am – 11:00am on Tuesday, Thursday, and every other Saturdays. Following this period, the position will transition to PRN status, for occasional weekend coverage as needed.
Position Overview:
The Wellness Center Associate will operate the Wellness Center as scheduled or in the absence of the Wellness Center Director. The Wellness Center Associate will familiarize themselves with residents, staff and members and provide aid as requested. The Wellness Center Associate will monitor the pool and equipment room during business hours. The Wellness Center Associate will be responsible for cleaning equipment room and pool.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee operation of the Wellness Center:
- Open and close the Wellness Center according to established operating protocol
- Watch the pool and hot tub on the monitor in the office to assure safety
- Clean pool, hot tub, and equipment room after use
- Be available to fill in for the director as needed on short notice
- Perform duties with little or no supervision
- Monitor open exercise and open swim
Assist with various activities:
- Assist with instructing Assisted Living exercise classes.
- Notify residents/members when class is cancelled due to weather, etc.
- Help conduct Essential Functions Testing (EFT) for new employees
- Help with collecting paperwork for memberships
Facility and pool maintenance:
- Assist with maintenance of the facility and equipment
- Check equipment room and ensure cleanliness including vacuuming, wiping down equipment, checking and cleaning ledges and under equipment
- Ensure the pool is vacuumed, brushed, checked and chemicals are balanced
- Perform hot tub chemical check
Ensure safety of residents/members:
- Respond to emergencies within the wellness center, along with calling 911 if necessary
- Report accidents or incidents to the Wellness Director according to facility policies.
- Monitor pool and facility safety during open hours.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all members and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification (Basic Life Support) or be willing to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
- Must have prior work experience in fitness and exercise instruction.
- Must have positive attitude, be encouraging, and be patient with participants.
- Must be able to work early morning, 6:30 am and Saturdays.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
