What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Assistant Director/teacher position at KidQuarters Child Care?
KidQuarters Child Care Center established in 1996, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher/Assistant Director to join our team.
Role Overview
In this role, you will support classroom teachers, assist the Director with administrative duties and NAEYC criteria, and help foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with lesson plan implementation, material preparation, and classroom management.
- Provide one-on-one support to children and maintain active supervision during instructional and non-instructional times (recess, lunch).
- Collaborate with staff and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Support center policies, state regulations, and NAEYC standards in partnership with the Director, staff, and families.
Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood Education (Associate degree or higher preferred).
- Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or educational setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass a DHHS background check and meet all state child care requirements.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Benefits & Compensation
- Pay Range: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and education).
- Position Types: Full-time (Teacher/Assistant Director) or Part-time (Teacher Assistant).
