JOB TITLE: CLINICAL SUPERVISOR
JOB PURPOSE:
The Clinical Supervisor provides day-to-day clinical leadership, supervision, and operational support for the Medical Assistant (MA) team under the direction of the KSM Nurse Manager and Providers. This role ensures high-quality, efficient, and compliant patient care by supporting staff education, adherence to clinical protocols (lab, electronic medical record, sanitation etc.), and coordination of clinic operations. The Clinical Supervisor serves as the primary clinical resource for MAs, promoting excellence in patient service, teamwork and continuous improvement across clinic sites.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Patient Care Leadership
- Ensure Medical Assistants perform patient rooming (vital signs, medical histories, medication records etc.), discharge including room cleaning, and documentation procedures accurately and consistently in accordance with KSM protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee workqueue for off-site procedures and overdue labs as ordered by the KSM provider, assigning and monitoring follow up tasks for timely completion.
- Ensure appropriate patient education materials are distributed and that staff understand the associated clinical expectations.
- Assist with direct patient care as needed dependent on staffing.
- Oversight and Management of Patient Medical Records
- Accurately document all information as required by company, state, and federal guidelines.
- Ensure staff are following patient confidentiality.
- Provide oversight and support to the MA team for accurate entry lab results into the patient’s electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner; assist with work as needed.
- Ensure chart prep procedures for patient visits are completed accurately, and efficiently by Medical Assistant staff. Assist as needed.
- Prepare and process lab order forms.
- Clinic Operations Management
- Manage daily clinic procedures and workflow.
- Schedule and coordinate 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and patient work-in appointment requests
- Order clinic supplies, including PPE, Sanitation products, and education material.
- Verify that patient rooms and staff PPE supply is restocked daily.
- Proactively identify safety concerns and discuss with KSM Nurse Manager or Site Safety Officer
- Complete and adjust Medical Assistant schedules according to clinic needs, keeping Chart Prep calendar updated no less than 3 months in advance.
- Leadership and Staff Development
- Act as first point of contact for Medical Assistants regarding clinic workflow, navigating and resolving clinical issues as they arise.
- Provide onboarding, training and ensure medical assistant staff are following current discharge procedures per company protocols.
- Conduct ongoing direction, training and retraining to Medical Assistant staff as needed to ensure documentation is accurate, appropriate, and in compliance with KSM/state/federal regulations.
- Complete annual reviews and 1:1 meetings for Medical Assistants in tandem with Nurse Manager until it is jointly determined that Clinical Supervisor can complete reviews on own.
- Escalate clinical concerns to Nurse Manager and/or Director of Operations to ensure a clear line of communication.
- Participate in weekly meetings with cross-departmental leadership to promote lines of communication between administrative and clinical staff.
- Lead weekly/bi-weekly Medical Assistant huddle.
- Responsible for time card management, including PTO and biweekly approvals for payroll.
- Interview and hire potential Medical Assistant candidates.
- General Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned and proactively identify other clinical tasks to be addressed/completed.

- Travel to all clinics listed below as needed.
- Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required, formal medical assistant or LPN training preferred
- MA pay range: $62,000 - $70,000
- LPN pay range: $68,000 - $78,000
- Experience: 2 years patient care experience, ideally in an ambulatory clinic setting, management experience preferred
