Duties
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for patient visits.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures as needed.
- Manage patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
- Handle administrative tasks like appointment scheduling, ICD coding for billing purposes, and managing patient correspondence in compliance with privacy regulations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinic.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation of patient data and clinical notes.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Ability to perform intake assessments, measure vital signs accurately, and assist with ICD coding for billing processes.
